HDA is more than just a “competition studio”

February 1, 2018

For over 20 years, Hermitage Dance Academy has always been a studio known for breaking the mold. And stereotypes have never been an issue. However, HDA seems to have gained a reputation for being a “competition studio.” This is one stereotype we’d like to address.

What we want to remind the people in our community is that dance competitions are not and should not be the focus of a dance studio. Attending competitions and being part of the competition team is great for learning team work, creating outstanding work ethic, and learning how to set and achieve goals, but they are not the only option!

What if I don’t want my child to compete?

Competitive dance is not for everyone and that’s ok! Our competition team students only make up about 15% off our total student base at HDA. And, YES, we have a phenomenal group of kids on our team. We are extremely proud of our competition team’s successes, and being a competitive dancer is rewarding!

Why should I pick HDA?

Our studio was founded on passion and a thirst for learning. Bottom line, we want kids to leave the studio in love with dance! It’s about having fun and being yourself. As cheesy as it sounds, it’s not really about being a “good dancer.” It’s about savoring the journey it takes to get there. That’s what’s important.

Our recreational program at HDA is huge. You know why? We show students that dance is fun! We’d love for you to try a FREE trial class and experience our studio first hand. Ready to get start now? Click here –> Trial Class Regsitration
