Andrea Woodward
Owner/Artistic Director
Teaches: Contemporary and Zumba
Andrea Woodward is the owner of Hermitage Dance Academy (HDA). HDA was opened in the fall of 1997, one year into Andrea’s college studies at Cumberland University. HDA has gone from a one room studio with about 50 students, where Andrea taught every class to a 5 room studio with a dancewear store, a hugely successful competition team, and recently the addition of the School’s Out Program and the Parent’s Day Out Program, complete with an amazing staff of over 15 passionate teachers. Andrea’s teaching and choreography are in demand throughout the country and she travels often to teach master classes and create choreography for other studios. She also is on staff for the popular KAR Convention National Tour, where she teaches lyrical and jazz. HDA was in the FDC’s top 50 in 2008 and in 2009 her studio was ranked number 8 among the FDC studios. In 2010 her studio was ranked #1 in the Southeast region and #10 in the nation. Andrea’s students have won many awards and scholarships from different organizations around the country, and some have gone on to be members of college dance teams, professional sports team dancers (Grizz girls), dancers on cruise ships and appeared in music videos, commercials and toured with numerous production companies and recording artists including being in the top 10 of “So You Think You Can Dance” season 15. Andrea has won countless awards for her stylistic choreography and for her students’ technical ability, including both Teacher of the Year and Choreographer of the Year every year from 2008 - 2018 at KAR Nationals. Andrea is certified by Dance Masters of America and holds a B.S. in Psychology from Cumberland University in Nashville, TN.

Imagine your whole family at HDA....Mom is taking Aerial silks class with her best friend Jill, Dad is working out with AMPED Fitness and getting stronger, young Sarah is taking her first ballet class ever, while brother, Jake, is finishing up his homework with his friends in the after school program. On their way home, they each share their favorite part of the day.... HDA will likely make its way into their highlight reel from the day, but the time spent together growing and learning as a family is something that will FOREVER be part of the fabric of this family. What will be your biggest takeaway from HDA? Begin your journey now!
